The conveniently located, non-smoking hotel offers traditional home cooking (pre-ordering is required) and free Wi-Fi access throughout the building. Enjoy traditional English cuisine in the evenings before unwinding in either the licensed bar or the restful lounge.

The Westgate has been awarded the '4-Star Silver Award' by the Quality in Tourism Council. This is in recognition of the facilities on offer, as well as the care and attention to detail that the staff extend to their guests.

Room information

The Westgate rooms are of a good size and each room is tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished and includes a variety of facilities, including Freeview TV, generous hospitality trays and complimentary toiletries. Please see individual room details for a complete list of facilities.

The Westgate also benefits from an en suite double room on the ground floor.

Food & beverage

Breakfast consists of a wide choice of cereals, fruit juice, yogurt, fresh fruit, grapefruit segments, prunes, a full cooked breakfast or smoked salmon and scrambled egg. There is toast and preserves, as well as tea, coffee, and flavoured teas. (Homemade jams are seasonal).

Bar meals are available from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, 4-course evening meals are available (pre-booking required). After 02 September 2009, these evening meals will be available every day.

Area information

As well as the numerous attractions of Torquay that are close at hand, visitors may also be interested in those slightly further afield:

Babbacombe Model Village (2.5 km / 1.5 miles) - experience a traditional English village in miniature. Stunning detail and craftsmanship have made this a popular attraction for adults and children alike.

Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway (5 km / 3 miles) - this preserved line has steam trains running for 11 km (7 miles) in Great Western tradition along the spectacular Torbay coast to Churston. Stunning scenery is in evidence throughout.

Travel information

By Car:
From the M5:
- Follow the A38 to Torquay.
- Then take the A380.
- Then take the A3022 into Torquay.
- Stay in the right-hand lane when you reach the junction of Torre station and Halfords.
- Follow Avenue Road and pick up signs to the seafront and Paignton.
- At the junction of the Riviera Centre and Falkland Road, turn sharp left onto Falkland Road.
- The Westgate Hotel is approximately 200 metres on the left-hand side.

The hotel has a large, free on-site car park (no reservations needed).

Torquay train station and coach station are within walking distance to The Westgate.

The Westgate is on the local no. 32 bus route into the town centre, which gives you easy access to all attractions and routes.

Remaining payment must be made to the hotel on arrival.

It is very important that you email the hotel in advance, to give an estimated time of arrival. Check in after 22:00 is not possible.

The hotel does not accept groups, including hen or stag parties. Such bookings will be cancelled without refund.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children older than 4 years are welcome.
All children from 5 to 12 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
All older children or adults are charged 100 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of total guests in a room is 4.

Deposit Policy: 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: 17.5 % VAT is included.
