Take the Gatwick Express train from the airport direct to Victoria Station. Then take the Underground from Victoria Station: Circle Line to Paddington. Alternatively, from Victoria Station, take the bus number 36 to Paddington.
From Stansted Airport:
Take the train from the airport to Liverpool Street Station. Then take the underground from Liverpool Street (Circle Line westbound to Paddington).
